Welcome to my home page. Use the following menu to go directly to the section of this document that interests you.

I am a Professor at the Department of Mathematics.

Research and Publications

My current research interests include operator theory, linear algebra, matrix and operator valued functions, linear control systems, differential equations, optimization and interpolation, combinatorial matrix theory. I am in particular interested in problems in matrix and operator analysis that are motivated by applications: control systems, signal processing. A complete list of publications is available, as well as lists of publications on separate topics . If you want to receive a reprint/preprint, please send me an e-mail message (lxrodm AT math DOT wm DOT edu).

Teaching

At the College of William and Mary I have been teaching a variety of undergraduate courses, mostly upper level: linear algebra, differential equations, abstract algebra, complex analysis, real analysis, multivariable calculus, applied linear algebra, introduction to functional analysis, senior seminar.

I direct regularly undergraduate research, in the Research Experience for Undergraduates program (funded by NSF) which is run by our department every summer since 1990, and through my NSF grants.
