I grew up in West Virginia before earning my undergraduate degree from Harvard University in 2004. I attended graduate school at The Ohio State University, receiving my Ph.D. in 2009 for my dissertation entitled "2-arc transitive polygonal graphs of large girth and valency" under the guidance of Ákos Seress. I was a Riley Visiting Assistant Professor at Binghamton University from 2010–2012, and I was a Research Associate in the Centre for the Mathematics of Symmetry and Computation at The University of Western Australia from 2013–2015. I have been at the College of William & Mary since 2015.
