Textbook: Applied Combinatorics, 5th edition by Alan Tucker. John Wiley & Sons, Inc., New York.
Material to be covered: Chapters 1--3, 5--8, and selected topics if time permits.
Homework will be assigned every lecture and due the following Tuesday.
Selected problems will be graded for the homework grade.
Challenging problems will be assigned from time to time;
extra-credits will be given to successful attempts.
You are stongly encouraged to discuss the problems together and
prepare your own solutions.
For identical solutions, socres will
be divided among the students involved.
Quizzes (20 min. each) on Jan. 31, Feb. 14, March 20, April 3, 17.
Exams: Mid-term Feb. 28 1:20 hrs (12:30-13:50 a.m.)
Final April 29 3 hrs (1:30-4:30 p.m.)
