Assignment 5: Page 91. Problems 8 and 10. Page 105. Problems 1, 3, 7 and 8 (due February 22)

Assignment 6: Page 119. Problems 3, 4 and 6 (due March 14) Please use Moline/Quad City International Airport as your personal airport for questions 3 and 4 (http://www.airnav.com/airports/). For question 6 St. Louis is on panel C of the area map. A copy will be handed out in class.

Assignment 7: Page 148: Problems 4, 6, 7 and 16 (due Friday, March 21).
Problem 4 map data: Wilmington, NC 34 degrees 21.1 minutes North, 77 degrees 52.46 minutes West; Flat Rock VOR 37 degrees 21.71 minutes North, 77 degrees 49.69 minutes West.

Problem 7 map data: Sidon VOR 33 degrees 27.83 minutes North, 90 degrees 16.64 minutes West; Texarkana VOR 33 degrees 30.83 minutes North, 94 degrees 4.39 minutes West.

For problem 16 please use the www.airnav.com website to look up the lat/long reading for the two VORs in questions. In addition, you may use the following website instead of the COMPSYS program. The web site http://www2.nau.edu/~cvm/latlongdist.html calculates the distance between points on the globe if you know the latitude and longitudes. (Be sure to use nautical miles.)

Assignment 8: Page 187: Problems 6, 9 and 11. (due Friday, March 28) For problem 11 use basketballs with 10 inch diameters weighing 2 pounds.

There will be a quiz on Wednesday, March 26. The quiz will have 1 problem from Chapter 6 and 1 problem from Chapter 7.

Assignment 9: Page 202: Problems 2, 5 and 8. (due Friday, April 4)

Assignment 10: Page 230: Problems 3 and 4. Page 261: Problems 2,3,5 and 10. (due Friday, April 18)

HOMEWORK POLICY. Regular homework emphasizing and extending lecture material will be assigned and graded. Late homeworks are not accepted except in the case of an unanticipatable absence (e.g. serious illness, death in the family, loss of your favorite DVD etc.).
