This math course uses applications involving principles of flight and airport operations to study a variety of math topics. These topics include geometry as well as linear, quadratic, logarithmic, exponential, and trigonometric functions. Students can expect to derive and use formulas modeling various aspects of flight. Computer assignments illustrate runway design, flight simulation, and navigation. Some sections of Math 104 require students to have notebook computers. This course is not open to students who have successfully completed a Mathematics course numbered higher than 210. Math 104 satisfies GER1.Math 104 Mathematics of Powered Flight
